Coffee Brewing Guide

By Adam Martineller

Those who are addicted to coffee would definitely agree that the best coffee they'll ever have is the one that perfectly suits one's taste. One can only be able to get the best coffee if he or she makes his or her own cup. But did it ever cross your mind what the answer to the question, how do you brew the best coffee, is? Your query can finally be answered because in this article, you'll find tips for brewing coffee at home.

First on the list is to buy some fresh coffee beans. If you are not sure what kind of beans to buy, you can get recommendations from the barista from your favorite coffee shop. You can buy the beans from a local roaster and select those coffee beans sold in sturdy, vacuum-sealed bags because these ones are the freshest.

After buying the coffee beans, you should now put together all the things you'll need for the coffee brewing. These include the kettle, chemex, filter paper, and cups.

Next, you have to boil water. It really doesn't matter how much water to boil at this point because you'd still be using the chemex to create the coffee.

After boiling, you would have to grind the coffee beans. You have two options on how to grind the coffee; either through an electronic grinder or one that's hand-operated.

Now, you have to fold the filter paper in half and in half again to form a cone and then you place it in the neck of the chemex. You have to pour some hot water on the filter paper to remove any paper flavour, and allow this water to drain entirely and pour it out. At this point, it is best to check if the filter is securely sealed against the wall of the cone.

You then place six tablespoons of the ground coffee into the filter paper. You now get the boiled water and pour a small amount of water over the grains, enough to saturate all the grounds evenly but also being cautious enough to not pour too much. You now have to wait for 20 seconds for this step to finish.

After that, you add the rest of the water, very slowly and steadily. The aim is to get all the water through into the carafe within three minutes. You also pour water on the sides of the filter just to remove all the remaining ground coffee up until the water reaches the top of the cone.

Once all this water has filtered through, you can now get the filter paper and enjoy your freshly brewed coffee! And that's how to brew the best coffee at home with this coffee brewing guide.
